Visit boosts I-State with 4-star

For the first time this week, Iowa State hosted a four-star wide receiver that's one of the top 35 players in the Lone Star State for the Class of 2018.

Cypress Springs (Texas) rising senior Taye Barber made the trip with running back Ta’zhawn Henry, who was making a return trip and also has the Cyclones in a favorites list. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound Barber said he especially enjoyed being around those in charge of the ISU program.

The 35th-ranked overall player in Texas 21st athlete nationally, Barber said he will be targeted to play wide receiver and likes how he could be utilized at I-State.

Although he has several offers from Power-5 programs, Barber zeroed in on Arizona, Clemson, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Stanford, Tennessee, TCU, Utah and West Virginia in his most recent list of favorites.
