Twin Cities DE adds I-State offer

It always helps to have an alum of your high school on the coaching staff of a college football program that's recruiting you, and that served a defensive end recruit from the state of Minnesota well recently.

Woodbury junior David Alston, who previously had offer from Northern Illinois, Air Force and Princeton, said he was excited to pick up his first Power-5 offer of the recruiting process. His lead recruiter, assistant coach Lou Ayeni, is a Woodbury graduate.

In the near future, the defensive end said he would like to make a return trip to Ames for a basketball game and to meet with the coaching staff.

In addition to the four schools that have offered, Alston said he’s also hearing from Pittsburgh, Utah, Minnesota, Michigan State and Vanderbilt.

For more on Alston's recruitment and how the Cyclones up at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
