StL LB all positive on Iowa State

An inside linebacker from the Midwest took an unofficial visit to Iowa State with four of his teammates last month and came away impressed with his latest trip to Ames.

St. Louis (Mo.) Lutheran North’s Devin Ruffin traveled to ISU just after the program opened spring practice.

The 6-foot-1, 210-pound Ruffin is a three-star recruit that also has Power-5 offers from Minnesota and Syracuse to go along with others such as South Dakota, Bowling Green, Western Michigan, Northern Illinois, Southeast Missouri State, Northwest Missouri State and New Mexico.

The visit to ISU ended for Ruffin and his four teammates with a meeting with head coach Matt Campbell, where the leader of the football program preached the importance of getting an education.

For more on Ruffin's recruitment and how the Cyclones up at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
