Soph DB reflects on I-State visit

After picking up a Cyclone offer in the spring, a Class of 2018 defensive back from the state of Florida was excited to take an unofficial visit and participate in a Saturday Night Lights camp in late June.

Wesley Chapel (Fla.) Wiregrass standout Shamaur McDowell spent two days in Ames with his father, taking part in the camp and meeting with head coach Matt Campbell and his staff. In addition to I-State, the 5-foot-11, 185-pound McDowell also has offers from Toledo, Bowling Green and South Florida.

Since he won't be signing with a school for nearly a year and a half, McDowell says he is still in the beginning stages of the recruiting process and has no favorites.
