Russell building bonds with Cyclones

A weekend visit for a bowl practice for a Kansas high school recruit has him even more sold on the Iowa State football program.

Overland Park St. Thomas Aquinas standout junior Jayden Russell, who has been high on the Cyclones since they offered him several months ago, said he likes the intensity and focus from the team when he was on campus Sunday.

The three-star junior has a 5.6 Rivals rating and also has offers from his two Power-5 in-state schools Kansas and Kansas State.

In addition to his solid relationship with the coaches, Russell said there’s his connection with Angel Dominguez, a former high school teammate and current Cyclone, that's swaying him ISU’s way.

For more on Russell's unofficial visit and how the Cyclones stack up at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
