Rodgers finds it real at Iowa State

Iowa State landed graduate transfer offensive lineman David Dawson from the University of Michigan last week, and went back to work over the weekend in hopes of landing another from a perennial college football powerhouse.

University of Southern California graduate transfer Khaliel Rodgers returned from Ames saying he had a blast on his first official visit since announcing he would be a grad transfer out of USC.

The 6-foot-3, 315-pound Rodgers termed it a business trip going into it and said he got into several details of the offensive system with line coach and coordinator Tom Manning. He was hosted by redshirt sophomore quarterback Jacob Park, who himself was a transfer to ISU out of Georgia.

Rodgers, who last week had said he was contacted by Baylor, Ole Miss, North Carolina, Purdue and UCF upon his transfer announcement, said the Cyclones have put themselves in a good position.
