The biggest National Signing Day II storyline for Iowa State was the final decision of three-star Gilbert (Ariz.) quarterback Brock Purdy. And the decision went the Cyclones' way.

Purdy made his announcement Wednesday morning at his high school. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound quarterback had been one of the hottest 2018 prospects of the late period after not signing in December. In addition to Iowa State, he received offers from and took official visits to Alabama, Texas A&M, UCF and Boise State.

Before blowing up as a national prospect late in the 2018 recruiting cycle, Purdy had previously claimed offers from Illinois, Kansas, New Mexico State, UNLV and a number of FCS programs.

As a senior in 2017, Purdy passed for over 4,400 yards with 57 touchdowns and he also rushed for over 1,000 yards as well. He led his Perry High School team to the state title game in Arizona's largest class.
