Nwangwu set for ISU official

A high school running back from Texas with multiple Power 5 offers will be at Iowa State this weekend on his first official visit of the recruiting process.
In addition to the one he picked up from Iowa State over the summer, Frisco Heritage senior Kene Nwangwu has offers from the likes of Indiana, Iowa, Kansas and Northwestern. His first official visit stop is to Iowa State this weekend.

"I've been talking a lot to Iowa State, Iowa, Indiana and Kansas," said Nwangwu. "I have five official visits and I saw Iowa State had a home game, so I wanted to come up and visit them. I'm excited to check out their campus and coaches."
Nwangwu said he'll be evaluating a number of aspects of the I-State program this weekend.
"I want to see the football facilities and dorms of where I'm going to be staying at, as well as the players and coaches," he said. "Is this is a place that I'll want to spend my next four years?"
The 6-foot-0, 180-pound running back carried 122 times for 1,050 yards and 13 touchdowns in eight district games this season.
A pair of Cyclone assistant coaches, Lou Ayeni and Stan Eggen, has been recruiting Nwangwu throughout the process.
"Coach Ayeni was a running back at Northwestern and said I am a good player and would really like to coach me," Nwangwu said. "He said I have good vision from the offensive line and defensive line, have good speed to make people miss, and finish my runs well."
Nwangwu has yet to schedule any additional official visits, but says Iowa, Indiana and Kansas are the likely destinations.
