Nagel gets long-awaited ISU offer

Iowa State offered an in-state tight end prospect a scholarship on Sunday night after nearly two years of recruiting him.

Manchester West Delaware tight end John Nagel, who is a Northern Iowa commitment, said he heard from the coaching staff and was relieved to hear the news of his first Power-5 offer.

The 6-foot-6, 230-pound Nagel has made it clear that he’s been solid with the Panthers, but that things could change if he picked up that long-awaited P5 offer. He appears ready to consider the Cyclones and will likely take an official visit there later this year.

When Nagel committed to UNI, he also had offers from Army, Eastern Michigan, Illinois State and Northern Illinois.
