Lineman likes ISU's focus on StL

Iowa State has spent some resources recruiting in the St. Louis (Mo.) area and one of the Class of 2019 recruits it recently offered is a fast-rising offensive line prospect.

Lutheran North junior Jack Buford now has P5 offers from Iowa State, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisville and Missouri. The 6-foot-3, 305-pound Buford said he’s surprised at how quickly has recruitment has taken off.

The 6-foot-3, 305-pound Buford battled injuries throughout junior high, didn’t play much at nearby Kirkwood as a freshman and was ruled ineligible last year after transferring due to athletic reasons.

Buford said he would like to take an unofficial visit to I-State, but that likely won't come until a Junior Day this winter, as heis scheduled to be at Oklahoma this Saturday while the Cyclones are playing their final home game of the season.

For more on Buford's recruitment and how the Cyclones stack up at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
