Kicker commit has big weekend in Ames

One of four official visitors to make his way to Ames this weekend was a Class of 2018 place-kicker commit from the southwest.

Scottsdale (Ariz.) Desert Mountain senior Brayden Narveson returned to Ames for the first time since committing to the Cyclones back in April.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Narveson said he spent much of his time with Joe Houston, whose title may be Associate for Quality Control but is the de factor kicking coach at ISU. Narveson also reunited with ISU’s current placekicker Garrett Owens.

Instead of pairing Narveson up with a fellow specialist, ISU coaches placed him with true freshman and Ames native Colin Newell.

For more on Narveson's official visit and what he thought of experiencing the Cy-Hawk game for himself, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
