Junior QB knows ISU coaches well

Iowa State has its foot in the door early for a Class of 2018 signal-caller from the state of Ohio, who said he's been recruited by Matt Campbell and his staff since the quarterback's freshman season.

Shelby (Ohio) junior Brennan Armstrong said he thinks highly of the former Toledo coaches and is anxious to catch up with them at their newest stop. It's been a long recruitment for Armstrong, who said he first started getting a look from Toledo as a 9th-grader.

In addition to I-State, Armstrong has offers from Virginia, North Carolina, Toledo, Ohio and Kent State.

For more on Armstrong's recruitment and how ISU stacks up at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
