ISU's Ohio ties appeal to soph DE

A rising junior defensive end from northeast Ohio recently collected his first Power-5 offer from Iowa State, and says one reason the school sticks out to him is because of the coaching staff's roots inside his home state.

Mentor Class of 2019 standout Noah Potter said he was excited to get the news of a Cyclone offer, after members of the staff were in to see him twice over the spring evaluation period.

Potter said he hasn’t spoken to the staff yet, but heard from his head coach that his spring workouts sold the coaches on making an early offer.

The 6-foot-6, 235-pound Potter said he also has offers from Bowling Green, Kent State and Toledo.
