ISU in Hunter's formidable top 5

The Cyclones are included in a top-five with four impressive football programs for a Class of 2019 defensive end from the state of Florida.

Fort Myers Dunbar sophomore prospect Derick Hunter has the Cyclones, Florida, Florida State, Miami (Fla.) and Oregon in his top-five. He said the Big 12 program is there because of the job they’ve done recruiting him.

Although the 6-foot-5, 222-pound Hunter has yet to step his foot in the state of Iowa, he said he’s got a good feeling about ISU from what he’s seen and heard.

In addition to the schools listed in his top-five, Hunter also has Power-5 offers from the likes of Maryland, NC State, Notre Dame and Syracuse.

For more on Hunter's recruitment and how the Cyclones stack up at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
