ISU a hit with JUCO D lineman
A Kansas JUCO defensive line prospect has close ties with the Iowa State coaching staff from his days as a high school standout in Toledo, Ohio.
Highland freshman Phil Hoskins knew Matt Campbell and many of ISU’s assistant coaches during his days of growing up in Toledo and attending Whitmer High School The 6-foot-5, 275-pound Hoskins caught up with Campbell and company during an unofficial visit to Iowa State over the weekend.
Hoskins would have been a top FBS prospect coming out of high school, and had been on Toledo’s radar, but settled at a JUCO because of grades.
In addition to his I-State offer, Hoskins also has ones from Arkansas State, Central Florida, Houston and Coastal Carolina.
