Since he’s the son of a former Iowa State varsity swimmer, an Illinois prep defensive back says he’s heard plenty about the school itself. Thanks to a recent offer from the Cyclones, he’ll now have a good reason to get aquainted to the football program.

Iowa State recently became the second Power-5 offer for Wilmette Loyola Academy cornerback Ian Swenson, when head coach Matt Campbell broke the news. Swenson’s father Todd was a swimmer in Ames during the 1980s.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Swenson also has a Power-5 offer from Louisville to go along with several other FBS ones from Bowling Green, Buffalo, Central Michigan, New Mexico, Western Michigan and Wyoming.

For more on Swenson’s recruitment and how ISU stacks up at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
