Detroit-area DB pursues, gets ISU offer

Hard work on the field and off the field in garnering interest in himself from college coaches helped land a Class of 2019 recruit an offer from Iowa State.

Southfield (Mich.) junior safety Marcus Fuqua, who initiated contact with head coach Matt Campbell's coaching staff during the summer, said he was happy to find out that his hard work in the offseason paid off with an offer from the Cyclones.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Fuqua said the staff likes the versatility he brings to the defensive backfield, and the improvement he showed from one season to another.

Fuqua’s ISU offer came on the heels of his getting a P5 offer from Syracuse. He also claims ones from G5 programs Army, Ball State, Kent State, Temple, Toledo, Akron and Buffalo.
