Cyclones lead the pack

Under a new coaching regime, Iowa State is making a concerted effort to recruit south Florida. One of the recruits in the area that has the Cyclones at the top of his list is a cornerback from Pembroke Pines who recently received an offer.

Flanagan junior Faion Hicks received an offer from Cyclone cornerbacks coach D.K. McDonald earlier this week, and says the school has vaulted to the front of his list.

Hicks, who also has offers from Cincinnati, Central Florida, Toledo, Florida Atlantic, Miami (Ohio), Illinois, Western Kentucky and Northern Illinois, will be targeted to play the cornerback position at the next level.

The 5-foot-10, 180-pound cornerback said McDonald will be at his school during the spring evaluation period.
