Cyclones hosting two this weekend

Iowa State is hosting a traditional recruiting prospect and a transfer target as well this weekend, starting today.
The transfer is 6-8 forward Dorian Finney-Smith, who averaged 6.3 points and 7.0 rebounds a game as a freshman last year at Virginia Tech. He shot 33 percent from the field and 58 percent from the free throw line. Finney-Smith was an ACC All-Freshman selection in his one and only season with the Hokies.

Louisville and Florida are the other top contenders for Finney-Smith, who would have to sit out the 2012-13 season as a transfer and would then have three seasons of competition remaining. Coming out of Portsmouth (Va.) Norcom High School, he was ranked as the no. 8 small forward and no. 31 prospect overall nationally by Rivals.com in the Class of 2011.
2013 point guard Monte Morris from Flint (Mich.) Beecher will be visiting ISU this weekend, too. Morris is a 6-foot-1, 175-pound four-star prospect who has offers from the likes of Arizona State, Boston College, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, USC and Virginia in addition to the Cyclones.
Morris has already visited Indiana and Syracuse - both showing strong interest - and Arizona State, which has offered. He said a late summer decision is his plan. Morris is ranked as the no. 82 prospect nationally in the Rivals150.
Assistant coach Cornell Mann is the lead recruiter for Iowa State on Morris.
