Cyclone offer tops for Rivers

One Class of 2018 quarterback that Iowa State offered last summer is hoping to make it to campus in the coming months for a visit, and says one member of the coaching staff has spent a lot of time recruiting him.

Plano Prestonwood Christian Academy’s M.J. Rivers, the son of former NFL tight end Marcellus Rivers, said he’s continued hearing from the Cyclones and assistant coach Jim Hofher in the months since and hopes to make it to Ames in the coming months.

The 6-foot-4, 212-pound Rivers said Hofher was at his school last month, and the coach has spent a lot of time recruiting him.

In addition to his I-State offer, Rivers said he’s gotten the most interest from Texas and Ole Miss.
