Big-time ATH keeps Cyclones in mix

The Cyclones offered a three-star athlete from the state of Georgia last August, and the prospect has gone on to pick up several other Power-5 offers in the months since.

Athens (Ga.) Christian School standout junior Richard Jibunor is now talking about taking an unofficial visit to Iowa State over the summer. The three-star recruit that's ranked 64th in the state of Georgia in the Class of 2018 now has an offer list that includes Alabama, Auburn, Kentucky, Louisville, North Carolina, NC State, Notre Dame, Purdue, South Carolina, Syracuse, Tennessee, Utah and Wake Forest.

The 6-foot-4, 206-pound Jibunor said the Cyclones have remained in the running because of the early offer and attention he’s gathered from the coaching staff.

I-State head coach Matt Campbell and assistant Tyson Veidt have had the most contact with Jibunor from the staff.

For more on Jibunor's recruitment and how the Cyclones up at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
