It’s not just Colerain High School in Cincinnati that the Iowa State coaching staff is recruiting, but all of the programs from around the talent-rich area. One of those prospects is a Class of 2018 standout from another school in the city.

Summit Country Day junior Xavier Johnson picked up his first Power-5 offer of the recruiting process from Iowa State.

The 6-foot-3, 200-pound Johnson, who also has offers from Cincinnati and Toledo, was told by Gasser that he had become more of a long-yardage threat since earlier in his prep career.

In addition to his three offer schools, Johnson said he’s hearing from Northwestern.

For more on Johnson’s recruitment and how ISU stacks up at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
