3-star DE ready for ISU visit

Since he arrived at Iowa State to take over as head coach, Matt Campbell made it a priority to recruit a three-star defensive end prospect from the state of Michigan. All of those efforts will come to fruition soon with an official visit by the talented defender.

Canton senior Jalen Cochran, ranked 17th in his state for the Class of 2016 and 33rd nationally at his position, says he’s been looking forward to the visit for several weeks.

The 6-foot-4, 235-pound Cochran figures to play all over the field for the Cyclones as a hybrid defender.

Heading into his I-State visit, Cochran said it’s down to two schools: the Cyclones and Miami (Ohio). He says at least two other schools have been in contact, but have yet to offer or want to schedule official visits.
