Making his first unofficial visit to Iowa State this past weekend, an Illinois prep linebacker said he had high expectations for a school that currently stands as his only Power-5 offer.

Batavia three-star junior Michael Jansey said a number of aspects stood out during a busy day this past Saturday.

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound Jansey also has G5 offers from the likes of Ball State, Central Michigan, Cincinnati, Eastern Kentucky, Kent State, Miami (Ohio), Toledo, Western Michigan and Wyoming.

Taking in ISU during a day in which several of the coaching staff’s top prospects were in town, Jansey said he got a good feel for what being a student-athlete at I-State is all about.
