Watkins knows I-State well pre-visit
It will be a reunion of sorts next weekend when a pair of teammates from Cincinnati, Ohio, take official visits to Iowa State and reconnect with a pair of freshmen already on campus.
One of those two official visitors is three-star offensive lineman Howard Watkins, who will be on campus for the first time when he arrives with fellow teammate Keontae Jones. Although his plans fell through for a game-day visit last month, the 6-foot-5, 280-pound Watkins is excited about his trip.
In addition to having personal connections with current Cyclone players, Watkins said he has a bond with many members of the coaching staff, many of whom were in Cincinnati yesterday.
One caveat to Watkins’ recruitment is his plan to graduate from Colerain early and enroll in college courses in January.
