Tarique Milton on his Iowa State decision

Most followers of Iowa State's recruiting efforts knew of a silent commitment that the staff has held onto for months, and the identity of that prospect became known for sure this morning.

Bradenton (Fla.) Manatee senior Tarique Milton signed with ISU a short time ago after his head coach announced the news on Twitter. The 5-foot-10, 159-pound Milton took his official visit to Ames the weekend of September 23rd, and said he gave the news to the staff a few weeks later.

With the announcement on National Signing Day, Milton became the 24th known commitment for head coach Matt Campbell’s 2017 class.

Campbell and his staff had been recruiting Milton for several months and had the recruit up for an unofficial visit during a camp weekend last June.

Although Rivals had him ranked as a two-star recruit, Milton wasn’t short on Power-5 offers. In addition to ISU, he had offers from Kentucky, Michigan State and Rutgers.

For more on Milton's commitment and signing with Iowa State, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
