Super soph weighing Cyclone offer

Iowa State became the first program of any kind to offer a Class of 2019 defender from the St. Louis (Mo.) area last month and hopes to get the standout for an unofficial visit soon.

Trinity Catholic has been a frequent stop for members of the coaching staff, as Iowa State has offered multiple standouts from within the program. The latest offer recipient is Class of 2019 linebacker Shammond Cooper.

The offer for the 6-foot-1, 190-pound sophomore was a big one, since it was his first. Cooper joined teammates Larry Boyd and Isaiah Williams as Trinity Catholic players with ISU offers.

For more on Cooper's recruitment and how ISU stacks up at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
