Sunshine State Cornerback Returning to State of Iowa

A standout Florida prep cornerback has plans to take an official visit to Iowa State next month, as the coaching staff looks to fill out the 2017 recruiting class with at least one more player at the position.

Largo Pinellas Park senior Zamari Maxwell says he is looking forward to being back in the state of Iowa after taking an official visit to Iowa City the weekend of the Cy-Hawk game in September.

It’s shaping up to be a five-horse race for the 6-foot-1, 175-pound Maxwell down the stretch, as he said he’ll likely choose between the likes of Iowa State, Iowa, Kentucky, Illinois and UCF.

All five schools were in-home with him during the December recruiting, including McDonald and Veidt from I-State. Maxwell is planning an official visit to Kentucky next month, but has nothing set with Illinois to this point.
