Square hopes to circle back on ISU visit

The coaching staff from a powerhouse high school program from Detroit, Michigan, brought several recruits to Iowa State last spring for unofficial visits, one of those a three-star outside linebacker that is now targeting a second trip to Ames.

Detroit Cass Tech three-star junior DeAndre Square, who made a trip to ISU with several teammates last spring, is now eyeing another visit once the Cyclones begin practices.

Assistant coach D.K. McDonald has continued recruiting prospects at Cass Tech, and Square thinks he has done a good job. The 6-foot-1, 196-pound Square said that a couple of aspects in particular stand out about I-State.

In addition to the one he’s received from ISU, Square has Power-5 offers from Arizona, Iowa, Kentucky, LSU, Michigan State, Minnesota, Missouri, Syracuse and Wisconsin.

For more on Square's recruitment and how the Cyclones up at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
