Soehner picks ISU after visit

Iowa State picked up a commitment from a high school tight end from the middle of SEC territory on Monday night when the recruit announced the news via social media.

Prairie Grove standout Dylan Soehner called the coaching staff this afternoon after returning from his ISU visit on Sunday.

A number of facets of the Cyclone program stood out to the 6-foot-7, 260-pound Soehner.

Although listed as an offensive tackle in the Rivals database, Soehner will open his career at I-State as a tight end. He says the coaching staff coveted him for the problems he will present for opposing defenses.

Redshirt freshman Cole Anderson, who signed with the Cyclones as an offensive lineman before moving to tight end, hosted Soehner on his official visit.

For more on Soehner's commitment to the Cyclones, check out a more in-depth article posted to the ISU Confidential message board.
