Punter Dunn sees I-State future firsthand

Saturday was Senior Day for the Oklahoma State game at Jack Trice Stadium and one of the recruits on hand for it is the punter-in-waiting for long-time incumbent Colin Downing, who played his final game in Ames.

San Francisco (Calif.) City College punter Corey Dunn started during the 2016 campaign at the JUCO, committed to Iowa State back in April, and opted to sit out this season to save himself a year of eligibility. He took his official visit to Ames this weekend, saying it was a nice getaway.

The 6-foot-1, 210-pound Dunn said he particularly enjoyed connecting with his host and fellow Aussie Matt Leo, who is in the process of redshirting this season.

With his official visit out of the way, the only thing left for Dunn is to graduate from his JUCO, which he will be doing following his last final exam on December 22nd. He’ll then head to ISU the first week in January to prepare for second-semester classes. Of course, Dunn will also be eligible to participate in spring practice.

For more on Dunn's official visit and everything he enjoyed about his experience, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
