Productive Ames visit for 2018 OL

Iowa State liked what it saw from a Class of 2018 offensive lineman during a satellite camp over the summer and became the first to offer a scholarship. Over the weekend, head coach Matt Campbell played host to the rising junior and his parents.

Peoria (Ill.) rising junior Marques Cox said he spent a lot of time with the Cyclones' head coach and likes the direction the program is headed. Cox, who has also been recruited by Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota and Central Michigan, said he is planning a return visit to Ames for the season opener against Northern Iowa. He's also planning an unofficial visit to Iowa.

For more on Cox's recruitment and how ISU stacks up at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
