Opponents focus on I-State commit Schleker

An Iowa State wide receiver commit for the 2018 class has struggled out of the gates due to opposing defenses game-planning against him, but that still hasn't stopped the senior from having an upbeat attitude about things.

Allen (Texas) senior Carson Schleker has three catches for 144 yards and two touchdowns in his team’s first three games. The 5-foot-9, 180-pound Schleker is no doubt disappointed by the numbers, but says he’s looking at the situation in other terms and is happy to see his team 3-0 and looking like a team destined for the postseason.

As far as his future team is concerned, Schleker says he has enjoyed watching the Cyclones on Saturday and is ecstatic to see the offense producing at such a high clip.

A three-star recruit with a 5.6 Rivals rating, Schleker picked ISU during the summer over other Power-5 offers that included Arizona, Illinois, Kansas, Louisville, Minnesota, Utah, Washington State and Wisconsin.
