Official Visit Recap: Justin Birdsong

Iowa State is seeking one more defensive back to round out its 2018 recruiting class, and hosted a Georgia high school standout over the weekend.

Stone Mountain Stephenson senior Justin Birdsong took his second official visit of the recruiting process to Ames, saying he enjoyed most everything about his experience.

The 5-foot-11, 175-pound Birdsong is valued by the Cyclones due to his versatility in the secondary, and it appears he’d be ticketed to play in one particular area of need.

Birdsong is a three-star safety with a 5.5 Rivals rating. Throughout the recruiting process, he has collected offers Duke, Illinois, Kansas, Kansas State and Minnesota. He took an official visit to Georgia Southern last weekend, and is considering trips to at least two other schools in upcoming weeks.
