Missouri DE keeping tabs on ISU

A Class of 2019 defensive end got more than he bargained for last month when he took an unofficial visit as Iowa State was in the midst of Liberty Bowl preparations.

Jefferson City junior Corey Suttle said his trip to Ames last month for a bowl practice took a surprising turn when he was called into head coach Matt Campbell’s office. With his mother and brother in the room, Suttle received his first scholarship offer from the Cyclones.

Aside from the conversation with Campbell, the 6-foot-4, 240-pound Suttle said he enjoyed everything else he saw during his day at ISU.

During ISU’s breakout 8-5 season under second-year head coach Campbell, Suttle said he really started taking notice during the win over Oklahoma. That interest piqued after the offer and carried through the Liberty Bowl victory.

For more on Suttle's recruitment and how the Cyclones stack up at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
