McKinney Already Planning Return Visit to Iowa State

Although much of the focus is on rebuilding the offensive line through the high school ranks, it’s been difficult for the Cyclone coaching staff to overlook a gigantic offensive lineman at a JUCO program less than two hours from Ames.

Iowa Western big man Anthony McKinney has been offered by Iowa State and was on campus for a game-day visit this fall. The 6-foot-9, 300-pound freshman said he’s been in constant contact with the program.

McKinney was on campus for the Texas Tech game this fall, and said he plans to return for another unofficial visit on February 11th for the Oklahoma basketball game.

At this point, it’s the Cyclones and Illinois State that have offered McKinney, who said he’s unsure if he’ll be a December 2017 grad or would need to return to Council Bluffs in the spring of 2018. McKinney is originally from Machesney Park, Illinois, and attended Harlem High School where he graduated this past spring.
