Long relationship for ISU & Fla. LB

A Class of 2018 linebacker from the state of Florida put up huge numbers as a high school junior and is starting to get noticed by several Power-5 programs. One of the first to take notice last spring was none other than Iowa State assistant coach Tyson Veidt.

St. Petersburg Admiral Farragut Academy junior Khalan Tolson said he has continued to hear from the Cyclones and Veidt since picking up an offer last spring.

The 6-foot-0, 205-pound Tolson also has Power-5 offers from the likes of Indiana, Louisville, Michigan, Michigan State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers and Syracuse, as well as from a host of G5 programs. As a high school junior, Tolson put up huge numbers for Admiral Farragut Academy. He finished with 103 tackles, including 37 tackles-for-loss, 14 sacks, five pass breakups and two forced fumbles.

The junior linebacker named his list of eight favorites and says the Cyclones are in it.

For more on Tolson's recruitment and how the Cyclones up at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
