Local RB takes in Cyclone bowl work

ISU and Iowa have offered a Class of 2020 running back from central Iowa, and it was the Cyclones that hosted the talented sophomore for an unofficial visit this past weekend.

Southeast Polk sophomore Gavin Williams took in the Sunday bowl practice and liked the intensity that he saw as the Cyclones prepared for the Liberty Bowl.

The 6-foot-0, 190-pound Williams enjoyed watching star rusher David Montgomery during the practice and said the sophomore looks like he’s on the road to recovery.

Running back coach Lou Ayeni and head coach Matt Campbell met with Williams briefly during the afternoon.

For more on Williams' unofficial visit and how the Cyclones stack up at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
