Lawrence sitting tight on ISU opportunity

A Missouri prep offensive lineman collected his first Power-5 offer of any kind during a weekend official visit to Iowa State.

St. Joseph Central senior Bobby Lawrence said he was shocked by a grayshirt opportunity extended to him on Saturday by head coach Matt Campbell and offensive coordinator and line coach Tom Manning.

Although he won’t decide until early next year, Lawrence will likely have a difficult decision to make. He currently has immediate full-ride FBS offers from Tulane and South Florida, as well as FCS-level schools Illinois State, Western Illinois, South Dakota, South Dakota State, Southern Illinois and Missouri State.

The 6-foot-8, 300-pound Lawrence was hosted by ISU linebacker Bobby McMillen.
