LA LB says I-State official is set

Iowa State is in line to host a California high school linebacker for an official visit next month, and the prospect said that gives it an opportunity to land him in the Class of 2018.

Los Angeles (Calif.) Cathedral senior Halid Djibril picked up an offer from Iowa State several months ago, has been recruited by a pair of coaches on the Cyclones’ staff and likes what he’s heard.

The 6-foot-1, 181-pound Djibril has a 5.7 Rivals rating, making him a borderline four-star prospect by Rivals. In addition to I-State, he has Power-5 offers from Boston College, Colorado, Illinois, Oregon State, Utah, Washington, Washington State, USC and Vanderbilt.

With the Cyclones turning things around in year two under head coach Matt Campbell, Djibril said he’s become even more intrigued with the program.

For more on Djibril's recruitment and how the Cyclones stack up at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
