Junior RB standout spends Monday at Iowa State

Iowa State coaches got an opportunity to make a big first impression on a four-star running back from the state of Illinois, hosting the prospect on an unofficial visit on Monday.

Quincy (Ill.) Senior rising junior Jirehl Brock said he was blown away by what the ISU program offers on the field and in the classroom.

The 6-foot-0, 186-pound Brock has attracted the attention of several Power-5 programs in the Midwest after rushing for 1,389 yards and 23 touchdowns as a sophomore. In addition to I-State, Brock has offers from the likes of Illinois, Iowa, Michigan State and Missouri.

Brock said he and his mom, who took the unofficial visit with him, didn’t anticipate seeing what they did while in Ames.
