Junior DE has Iowa State at No. 1

A junior recruit from the state of Florida recently picked up an Iowa State offer after having been recruited by an assistant coach since spring workouts.

Class of 2018 defensive end prospect Trey Laing, of Tallahassee (Fla.) Leon, picked up his first Power-5 offer to go along with the ones he has from Florida Atlantic and South Alabama.

The 6-foot-4, 230-pound Laing said it’s his relationship with defensive line coach Eli Rasheed that has helped put the Cyclones at the forefront of his recruitment.

An unofficial visit won’t happen for Laing in the near-future, but he says hopefully next spring or summer he can make his way to ISU.

For more on Laing's recruitment and how ISU stacks up at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
