ISU visit a business trip for Bowens

Being a long-time Iowa State commit with no intentions on going anywhere else, a 2017 defensive back addition took a business-like approach to his official visit this weekend.

Fresh off his team’s Michigan Division III state championship victory, Orchard Lake St. Mary’s cornerback Richard Bowens was excited to start thinking ahead to where he’ll be spending the next four or five years.

The 6-foot-1, 175-pound Bowens was hosted by true freshman defensive back Romello Webster. He also spent some time with fellow first-year Cyclones Lawrence White and Jalen Martin.

In anticipation of his official visit this weekend, Bowens said he had ISU coaches in town over the past few weeks. Head coach Matt Campbell and McDonald were in-home with him a few weeks ago, and Tom Manning was in-school last week.

For more on Bowens' official visit and the various aspects that stood out, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
