ISU June visitor sets commit date

One of the top defensive back targets on the Cyclones' board was on campus late last month for an official visit, and returned to his home in Florida with a high opinion of the football program.

West Palm Beach (Fla.) Dwyer's Cedrick Dort said he felt right at home and loved everything the program has to offer. The 6-foot-0, 165-poundClass of 2017 recruit spent time with ISU senior cornerback and Florida native Nigel Tribune, as well as 2017 recruits Quran Hafiz, Kenih Lovely, KJ Hamlin, Daetrich Harrington, Malik Davis and Josh Johnson.

In addition to I-State, Dort also has Power-5 offers from Kentucky, Minnesota, Rutgers, Syracuse and Wisconsin.

He will name a list of finalists later this month and says he plans to announce a commitment on August 2nd.

For more on Dort's recruitment and how ISU stacks up at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
