With his senior season behind him, an Iowa State defensive back recruit has now turned his attention to the next step in his football career. But first thing's first and that's an official visit to Ames next month.

St. Petersburg (Fla.) senior Anthony Johnson, who committed to the Cyclones last spring, helped lead his team into the playoffs this fall.

The 6-foot-1, 160-pound Johnson said next month’s trip to Ames will be much more low-key than the one he took prior to his commitment, as he spent three days there last spring during the decision-making process.

Prior to his commitment, the senior defender had G5 offers from Bowling Green, Buffalo, Marshall, South Florida, Tulane and Western Kentucky.
