Is a trip to Ames in Zeiglers future

With around ten scholarship offers to his credit, Detroit (Mich.) Community small forward Byron Zeigler certainly has options as to where he'll play his college basketball.
The 6-foot-6, 185-pound Zeigler has active scholarship offers from Iowa State, Providence, UConn, Tennessee, Iowa, Dayton, Eastern Michigan and Detroit Mercy. He and his Michigan Hurricanes AAU teammates are currently in Las Vegas participating in the Fab 48 tournament. Zeigler took some time out of his tourney schedule to talk with CycloneReport.com.

"Yeah, Iowa State has been recruiting me since my sophomore year in high school," Zeigler said. "I've been talking to them since then. I talk to Coach Corn (Cornell Mann) a lot. He's always telling me how it is there and how there's always a place for me at Iowa State."
So far, Zeigler has been on unofficial visits to schools such as Michigan, Michigan State, Dayton and Indiana, where he saw the Hoosiers knock off no. 1 Kentucky early last season. He has yet to visit Iowa State, but said that is a likely possibility.
"Me and my coach are supposed to go to Iowa State soon," said Zeigler. "I don't know when that will be. I don't know if it will be before my officials start or not. I haven't decided where to take official visits; it could be one of them."
Zeigler, who is ranked as the no. 118 prospect nationally overall and no. 17 at small forward by Rivals.com, said he isn't sure if he'll sign in the early signing period come November. But he doesn't expect to draw the process out much past that.
"I don't have a time schedule to make a commitment, but I want to commit before my senior season starts," he said.
Zeigler, who goes by Bo, is the nephew of former Central Michigan head coach Ernie Zeigler and cousins with Pittsburgh's Trey Zeigler.
