The Cyclones have made a concerted effort to recruit Cass Tech High School in Detroit, and the coaching staff has its eye on a Class of 2018 linebacker from the program.

Junior defender Dyontae Johnson said he picked up his offer from the Cyclones last month and said coaches are high on the versatility he brings to his position.

The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Johnson said he’s likely to play either outside linebacker or defensive end at the next level. In addition to his I-State offer, he also has one from Cincinnati.

In addition to I-State, Johnson also has an offer from Cincinnati to go along with interest from Kentucky and Miami (Ohio).

For more on Johnson's recruitment and how the Cyclones up at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
