In-state soph stays in touch
Iowa State just picked up a verbal commitment from West Des Moines (Iowa) Dowling Catholic for its 2017 recruiting class. And the Cyclones are interested in a 2018 Maroon as well.
John Waggoner is a 6-foot-5, 200-pound sophomore tight end and defensive end prospect. He is, of course, a high school teammate of junior linebacker Jake Hummel, who committed to Iowa State on Saturday.
Waggoner has visited ISU unofficially in the past and plans to do so again in the future. He said the I-State program is one of two that he is in contact with the most, along with an elite power program from Florida.
