Georgia LB enjoys chat with Campbell

An unofficial visit during the early part of the summer is in the works for a Georgia prep linebacker following his offer from Iowa State head coach Matt Campbell last week.

Tucker Class of 2018 prospect Gerry Vaughn said his recruitment originally started with some contact from linebacker coach Tyson Veidt, and has picked up ever since.

The 6-foot-0, 200-pound Vaughn says the Cyclones rank high for him at the moment for a number of reasons. He said the team is in a group of four favorites that include Maryland, Georgia Southern and Toledo. Vaughn said he is also receiving interest from Indiana, Wake Forest and East Carolina.

Vaughn has remained in touch with Veidt since picking up the offer and said he’s planning on an early-summer unofficial visit to Ames.
