Florida DE intends to visit I-State

After picking up an offer from the Cyclones several months ago, a Class of 2018 Florida prep defensive end is now eyeing an unofficial visit to Ames during the summer months.

Tallahassee Leon junior Trey Laing has had an offer from the Cyclones for several months, and said he’s built solid relationships with a pair of assistant coaches.

The 6-foot-4, 230-pound Laing, who has a 5.5 Rivals rating, also has offers from Syracuse, USF, FIU, UAB, South Alabama, Mercer, Toledo, Ohio, Appalachian State, North Carolina-Central, Samford and Middle Tennessee State.

Laing, who doesn’t yet have a date set for his unofficial visit to ISU, said he would like to make a decision prior to the start of his senior season.
